INTRODUCTION AND OBJECTIVES
OI Railroad Workshop EF-262, Railroad of the Cerrado, aims to discuss railway technical subjects, actions and strategies necessary for the implementation of the Railroad EF-262, section Alto Araguaia / MT-Uberlândia / MG, indispensable for the integration of the Central- West and Brazil, focused on the transportation of low added value cargoes and stimulating the country's agroindustry development. The size of the production of agricultural bulk and miscellaneous products along the preliminary route of the EF-262 railroad, provided for in the National Road System, requires an adequate transport network to the loads, with rail profile, currently allocated to the road network, generating high costs and logistical risks. This inadequacy was most evident in the May / 2018 truck drivers' strike, which culminated in the issue of the value of freight and, at the time, the lack of various products throughout the country. Considering also the timely transition of government, it is in this environment that academia, public agencies, associations and agents of the productive sector come together to deepen the discussion on technical matters and rail integration in Brazil, specifically in the Central West region, of EF-262, covering the States of MT, GO and MG, in view of the Railway Manifestation of Interest Procedure (PMI), filed with the Ministry of Transport on 08/01/2018.

JUSTIFICATIONS
The need to present and discuss technically the difficulties and limitations of national freight logistics, especially considering the growth of agroindustry in the Midwest and Triângulo Mineiro regions, with serious deficiencies in the systemic planning for rail transportation in these regions, integration with the railway axis of the North-South Railway and with the ports of the Southeast region, mainly Espírito Santo and Açu. All this in a post-electoral moment, in which Brazil tries to recover from an institutional crisis, subject to new truck stoppages, situations that have already generated an incalculable social and financial impact on the country, being extremely necessary that decisions are taken under the optics of technicians, researchers and professionals of the area, at the risk of compromising the already critical economic situation of the country.
TARGET AUDIENCE
The event is aimed at technicians and researchers from organizations and entities related to logistics and transportation infrastructure, teachers and students in the area, industries, farmers, consultants and companies involved in the activities of production and transportation, storage and operation of cargo transfer stations , engineers, administrators, politicians and representatives of public and private entities. Finally, all those who have an interest in investing or improving their technical knowledge in the area of railways, logistics and / or transport infrastructure.
