MISSION OF TRANSPORT ENGINEERING COURSE
Produce, integrate, disseminate and apply knowledge in the area of transportation, stimulating skills and attitudes, contributing to the formation of ethical, critical, entrepreneurial, committed and adaptable professionals to changes in society with a focus on social, economic and environmental responsibility.

PURPOSE OF THE TRANSPORT ENGINEERING COURSE
Train engineers with innovative and competitive principles capable of developing transport systems within a social, economic, political and cultural context, in a sustainable way.

 

The general objective of the course is to train engineers able to develop transport systems that meet the needs derived from the socio-economic context, but also adapting to social constraints, as well as to natural, human and financial resources. Thus, based on the panorama of engineering education in Brazil, it is established that the higher education taught in the course of Transport Engineering of UFG has the following specific objectives:

  • Train citizens in the area of ​​knowledge of transportation engineering, suitable for insertion in the labor market and for participation in the development of Brazilian society;
  • Stimulate the development of the scientific spirit and reflective thinking;
  • Encourage research work and scientific research, aiming at the development of science and technology, thus enabling a more harmonious integration of man in the environment in which he lives;
  • To promote the dissemination of technical, scientific and cultural knowledge that constitute the patrimony of humanity, through publications or other forms of communication;
  • Raise the permanent desire for professional improvement and make it possible to achieve it;
  • Raise awareness of the problems of the present world, in particular local, regional and national problems;
  • Establish a relationship of reciprocity with society through various mechanisms, such as the provision of specialized services;
  • To promote the extension to society of the scientific and technological research generated in the institution, aiming at the diffusion of the achievements and the benefits resulting from them;
  • To extend to the community, in the form of courses, conferences and publications, the results of the studies and the scientific researches that it performs, such as the provision of services to the community;
  • Maintain exchanges with similar institutions in Brazil and abroad and collaborate with public and private bodies, especially with planning and research sectors in general, with a view to updating and improving teaching and applying specialized knowledge;
  • To raise students' awareness of the problems of the environment so that they become proactive participants in the battle to preserve the environment as a guarantee of the social well-being of the human being.
